    Two-Phase Liquid Immersion Cooling: An Up-and-Coming Solution

    Two-phase liquid immersion cooling (2PLIC) is the latest advancement in liquid cooling. Similar to single-phase immersion cooling, electronic components are submerged into a dielectric liquid. However, the immersion fluids used by two-phase liquid cooling are vastly different from those used in single-phase cooling. During two-phase immersion cooling, the immersion fluid absorbs the heat and begins to boil. The fluid then turns into a vapor that rises and condenses on a heat exchanger (condenser) within the immersion tank. The condenser transfers the heat to facility water for waste heat recovery where it can be used as warm water in the facility, for example.
